The design for this existing Courtyard by Marriott, located in the growing South Lake Union district of Seattle, takes its visual cues from the rich nautical history of the region. SERA developed a public space design palette based on moody grey skies mixed with the deep blues and greens of the Pacific Northwest. Wood and brass accents add warm tones to the finishes throughout. The transformation of the lobby, bar and dining room helps root this hotel into the culture of its unique locale. The formerly dark and disconnected lobby was transformed into a light-filled atrium through an open plan that creates distinct zones for guests to lounge, work, meet and socialize. The meeting rooms were renovated as well and brought into alignment with the rest of the hotel, creating more of a unified look and feel.
